About the Program

While working with faculty and graduate students on various resaearch projects, students will also participate in a 1-week short course designed to provide fundamental knowledge in these areas, as well as workshops in non-technical topics, such as presentation skills.

  • Eligibility:
    • This program is open to current sophomores and juniors.
    • As per NSF guidelines, all participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
    • Women and students from underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply
    • Students currently completing their studies at community or county colleges who will continue their studies at 4-year institutions after the summer are also encouraged to apply.
  • Compensation:
    • Students receive a stipend of $4,200 for the summer research experience.
    • Students are provided with complimentary housing and a supplement for meals.
